Privacy Policy for ScopeGuard

Last updated: November 5, 2026

ScopeGuard ("the app," "we," "us") is a contract review tool for freelancers. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it's used, and your choices.

What we collect

When you tap Review, the contract text you paste or the PDF you upload is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which passes it to Anthropic, the provider of the AI model we use, to generate the findings and the drafted email.

If you use "Report a problem" in the app, we receive the reason you choose and any note you write. We also receive the AI's findings and drafted email for that review, but only if you choose to include them.

We do not require you to create an account to use the free tier of the app. If you subscribe to ScopeGuard Pro, subscription and payment information is handled entirely by Google Play (or Apple, on iOS) and RevenueCat, our subscription management provider — we do not receive or store your payment card details.

How we use your data

Contract text you submit is used only to generate the analysis and email draft shown to you in the app. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your contract content for advertising.

Third-party processing

Contract text is processed by Anthropic's API to generate the review. Subscription purchases are processed by Google Play / Apple App Store and RevenueCat. Please refer to each provider's own privacy policy for details on how they handle data:

Data retention

ScopeGuard's server does not save your contract. Anthropic may keep submitted content for up to 30 days, and longer where required for safety or legal reasons, and does not use it to train its models by default. Please see Anthropic's privacy policy for its current practices.

Your past reviews and your free-review count are stored only on your device. Problem reports are kept in our server logs only as long as needed to review them.

Your choices

You can delete saved reviews at any time under Previous contracts in the app. You can also stop using the app and delete it, which removes any locally stored data. If you have a subscription, you can cancel it at any time through Google Play or the App Store subscription settings on your device.

Children's privacy

ScopeGuard is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Terms of Service

Our Terms of Service explain the rules for using the app.
